Our 25th Anniversary Summer Concert: some appreciative comments sent by email…
[We] have just returned home from a most thrilling evening of music-making by your choir, and I have to say, what a truly thrilling evening it has been. The quality of singing (all from memory!) was so impressive, and one of the aspects of this performance which came across strongly, was that the choir enjoyed singing the programme and entered into the celebratory mood of the evening.
What a stunning concert!!! The quality and variety were exceptional. Not just the singing but the stage management was slick; the introductions were interesting, succinct and importantly, for those of us at the back of the church, audible. Many choirs I have heard rehearse the singing but forget the other essential items involved in presenting a concert.
What a wonderful concert! Never heard any James MacMillan before and [was] blown away by the beauty and unexpectedness of the piece [Christus Vincit].
That was a SUPERB concert. It shows what can be achieved with dedication, proper preparation - and lots of talent, of course! Not a moment when the singing faltered - a rare treat.
I think that must have been the best choral concert of the season [in Sheffield]. But how did the audience know that it would be so? Perhaps you always get that number - but no-one else does!
Congratulations on a most marvellous, uplifting evening on Saturday: [we] were both fascinated by the music and the professionalism of the choir, not least that it was all performed without reference to words and music and what a lot of work too! The atmosphere in the church was so relaxed and friendly, an audience of people just enjoying music, beautifully performed. It enriched the soul.
The evening was most memorable.
